Rockwood First Congregational Church is a bible believing church with a spiritual connection to the Trinity of God. We are located at 22600 Mather St in the City of Rockwood, Michigan. We are a body of believers who are guided by the presence of the Lord’s Holy Spirit. We serve the Will of God as His hands, feet, ears and voice for world around us. We are excited how the Lord’s Holy Spirit continues influence the many disciples of Christ in our communities today.
Our Church is a free and autonomous Christian community that is directed by the Headship of Jesus the Christ. We do not report to any denominational hierarchy. However, we do choose to have fellowship with the following Congregational Way Associations: National Association of Congregational Churches, the Michigan Conference of Congregational Churches, and the Southeast Michigan Association of Congregational Church. These associations of Christian brothers and sisters offer mutual support for one another in the following Congregational Way.
Our Faith – We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior from sin for all who believe in Him.
Our Freedom – Congregational churches derive their name from the prominence given the congregation in the church life. Under the guidance of Christ, the congregation determines its own activities and administers its own affairs free from outside interference or control.
Our Mission Statement – We, the members of Rockwood First Congregational Church, as a fellowship of God loving people are: united in glorifying God; committed to teaching, learning and sharing in Christ’s Word; and determined to live our faith, so that others will come to know Him.
Our Communion – We have an open table of Communion, meaning everyone is invited to partake in the Lord’s Supper whether you are a disciple of our Church or you have no church at all and let your faith be your guide. Come to testify not that you are righteous but that you sincerely love our Lord Jesus Christ and desire to be His true disciple. Our Communion service is normally observed on the first Sunday of each month and at other special times in the year.
