It’s hard to believe that were closing in on another year under a pandemic cloud that’s been life changing. As you know, most of our congregation has received their vaccines with hope that we may all be able to get back to our normal lives once again. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. For whatever reason there are a lot of younger people (many we may know) who have decided to turn a new page towards absolute craziness, meaning they have chosen to defy all human logic and trusted scientific knowledge. It’s hard to believe that there’s some sinister government electronic chip or some evil chemical that has being placed in our lifesaving vaccines; I know it just baffles us all. Now we’re heading into the fall season, when our lawns start to slow their growth, the leaves begin to change into their fall colors, and they start falling off the trees as the outside temperature becomes cooler and cooler. As the fall season changes take hold, we are starting to see a rapid increase in the inflection rate of the unvaccinated young people in our state. They are contracting a new mutated version of Covid virus that has become more dangerous and more deadly than the original 2019 version. If you’re like me, we start asking ourselves this question, why? Why are so many young people having such a difficult time placing their trust or faith in our lifesaving vaccines? Well, I think I know the answer. It’s because more and more of our young people today are faithless. Meaning they don’t know God; they especially don’t know about God’s grace or wisdom. If faithless people have never been exposed to God, how could they ever learn about trust or how to have faith. Just think about this for a moment, how could they learn Godly things without the Spirit? As disciples of Jesus the Christ, we all know that God is trustworthy, that God is righteous, and God is faithful. So, here’s my point, how can faithless people ever trust or have faith in anything? They cannot, it’s because the world doesn’t teach them how to trust or how to have faith. Our world today only teaches our young people how to be self-centered or how you cannot trust your parents and others. So, what’s the answer? How will we ever get back to normalcy? Well, it all begins with us teaching our children and our youth today about trusting and loving God. But how? It all starts when parents and grandparents make going to church for their children and youth not optional, but as a weekly event that takes place regardless of what’s happening on Sunday. It’s about having the spirit of fire with a serious commitment to ensure your children learn about God’s love, compassion, trustworthiness and what it means to love and help your neighbors. If we want normalcy in our society, it all begins with God!
